Beautiful You

This is my first project using SU!'s Beautiful You stamp set - which I absolutely fell in love with when I saw it in the catalogue.


I paired Beautiful You with CTMH's Hello Lovely paper pack, which is my favourite from Seasonal Expressions 1. I paper-pieced her dress and hat with patterned papers from Hello Lovely, and used the zip strips from the tops of the paper for my vertical "stripes." I also used some CTMH gold glitter gems and gold foil tape.

I used Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Sketch #201 as inspiration for this card, but I didn't enter it in this week's challenge because it doesn't quite fit! But still, I love the way it turned out and I do love this stamp set!!

Merry Christmas Slimline

I did another card from this week's  Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge  (sketch #469). This time, I did a Christmas card! I used Gina K's woodgraining technique (you can find a tutorial here ). I also used Distress Frosted Crystal embossing powder; here's a close-up of the effect: For the snowflakes and the sentiment, I cut the shapes out twice and glued them together to make them thicker. You Did It!

It has been awhile since I participated in the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge , so yesterday I popped on to see what the sketch was this week. I need a graduation card for my niece who is graduating from elementary school this June, so I thought I'd allow this sketch to give me inspiration! This is what I came up with:  I made it in the school colours (red and gray).  This is also (I think) the first time I've ever made a slimline card. I like how it turned out! Supplies: Cardstock: Recollections Black and Gold Foil; SU! Real Red, Smokey Slate, and Whisper White; and Gina K Wild Dandelion Stamps: CTMH You Did It, Just a Little Something, and Time to Celebrate Dies: SU! Inspiration from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge : My Interpretation : Supplies : Stamps: CTMH Finding the Words Ink: SU! Crumb Cake Embossing Folder: SU! Lucky Stars Paper: CTMH Year>>Noted paper pack Etc: Flowers (I have no idea!), Michaels Adhesive Crackle Dots (Island Time) Thanks for looking!! :) ----------------------------------------------------------- Second thoughts (on Wednesday!)... I reworked the card a bit. Added a bigger circle and moved the flower down. I think they both look good. Just playing around with the design a little more.
