AHSC Sketch #221

Good Tuesday morning to you all!  I'm participating in the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge this week, and this is the sketch. When I saw the sketch on Monday morning, I just knew I had to participate and I knew JUST the paper pack I was going to use. CTMH's No Worries was a no-brainer; it is by far my FAVOURITE paper pack in Seasonal Expressions 2 and I will be sad to see it go at the end of this month.  I may have stocked up... I also ordered some banner dies online, and they arrived a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't ask for a more perfect sketch on which to try them out!  Then I remembered my beachy dies that arrived around the same time - and my idea for the sketch was born. (I may have been going a little crazy lately, ordering dies from overseas - SO cheap and SO cute. They take some time to get here, but it's so exciting when I go to the mail box and see those white plastic envelopes addressed to ME!! :) But, I digress...) I am so excited to share my f

39, again!?

Just popping in to show off a card for my mother-in-law's birthday next week. I used the No Worries paper pack, Cashmere and White Daisy cardstock, white burlap ribbon, and No Worries sequins (all CTMH). I also used CTMH Keyboard Uppercase Alpha stamp set. I used some SU! products too - notably the Large Numbers Framelits, Chocolate Chip ink, and Glimmer Paper Assortment pack - Bermuda Bay (thank you, Sale-a-bration!) I added some Liquid Glass to my glimmer paper 39 - to give it an extra layer. I'd always wanted to try adding LG to a die cut, but I was unsure how messy it would be plus, I just don't like to ruin things. But I gave it a try and absolutely LOVE how it came out! It was super easy to apply the LG, I just traced around the numbers (not particularly close to the edges) and used the applicator tip to move the LG around. The glimmer paper is somewhat forgiving, because it's glittery and beautiful as is, so I'm not sure how I would do on a plain old

AHSC #214 - No Worries!

I'm so in love with CTMH's No Worries patterned paper. I completed the scrapbooking Workshop Your Way (my first one ever!) - just have to get the pictures printed for the layouts. I've also been making some cards using this paper pack (and coordinating stamp sets and embellies). I used this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge sketch as inspiration for my latest card. This is the sketch: This is my interpretation of the sketch: Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my card! :) Supplies : Paper: No Worries patterned paper, White Daisy and Cashmere cardstock (all CTMH) Ink: Cashmere, Sapphire, Seaglass, Black and Saffron (all CTMH) Stamps: No Worries Card-Making stamp set, My Anchor, Little Dreamer Card-Making stamp set (All CTMH) Embellishments: CTMH White Burlap ribbon, 3D foam tape

AHSC #202

I had an extra long weekend, and it is ending today - back to work tomorrow! I didn't do anything too exciting on my extended weekend, besides housework and laundry but I did have a chance to do a little paper-crafting today. I'm participating in the  Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge , This is the sketch for this week: My interpretation of the sketch: Supplies : Paper: CTMH Sangria (retired) Embellishments: SU! Lace Doilies, CTMH Tis the Season tag kit (gold glitter paper), CTMH Bling Gems Assortment (gold) Stamps: SU! Teeny Tiny Wishes Ink: CTMH Eggplant ink

Beautiful You

This is my first project using SU!'s Beautiful You stamp set - which I absolutely fell in love with when I saw it in the catalogue. I paired Beautiful You with CTMH's Hello Lovely paper pack, which is my favourite from Seasonal Expressions 1. I paper-pieced her dress and hat with patterned papers from Hello Lovely, and used the zip strips from the tops of the paper for my vertical "stripes." I also used some CTMH gold glitter gems and gold foil tape. I used Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Sketch #201  as inspiration for this card, but I didn't enter it in this week's challenge because it doesn't quite fit! But still, I love the way it turned out and I do love this stamp set!!

One Sheet Wonder - Hello Lovely-style!

I was looking for something to do today since my other half is working and I have to the house to myself (except for the dog, who is very needy and loves his cuddles), so I decided to do my first One Sheet Wonder cards. I did not realize how many templates for One Sheet Wonders there are - wow! So, if you are interested in OSW, but not the template I used, never fear! Because there are about a million and a half more out there. Google is your friend. OSW does not mean you don't use other products (at least in my eyes it doesn't) - it just means you use one sheet of patterned paper to make all of your cards. So that being said, I will be using the  CTMH Workshop Your Way Hello Lovely kit  - so I may use some ribbon and embellishments from that kit. But, I will only be using one piece of the patterned paper.  I will also be using CTMH White Daisy cardstock for my card bases, and probably some CTMH Sea Glass cardstock and glitter paper (as you might have guessed, I haven

AHSC #199 - Coffee on a snow day?

Happy Monday everyone!! 😃  Since it is a snow day here, I had some time to check out the AHSC sketch super early. This is the sketch : And this is my take on the sketch: I went to Michael's on Saturday and I purchased  this  Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations coffee stamp/die/embossing folder combination. Anyone who knows me, knows I love my coffee, so it was the perfect set to spend my Christmas gift card on (and when you have a 50% off coupon, how can you say no?!) I freakin' LOVE how it turned out! It's been awhile since I was SO in love with a card! :) I inked up the embossing folder with SU! Chocolate Chip ink. Pink and brown (particularly the Chocolate Chip colour are one of my favourite colour combinations... so I had to find some pink paper in my vast paper collection. I finally settled on CTMH's retired Ivy Lane collection (another that I have not used because I think it is too pretty! Yes. I am a hoarder.) The little heart sticker in th

AHSC #198: Playing with Retired Regatta!

This is the sketch for this week's challenge over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge : And this is my interpretation of the sketch: I used a paper envelope that I purchased at Dollarama and I made my own sentiment insert. The paper envelopes are 10 for $1.25! striped, chevron and polka dots in at least 4 different colours - but every package just has one colour and pattern per package. The paper pack I used was CTMH Regatta. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I think I used it for one card before today. I find I do that; I love a paper pack and then don't want to use it because I love it so much...which entirely defeats the purpose.  No one is going to enjoy it being stored in my wardrobe!! :) I even used the zip strip on one of the patterned papers for the "Nothing but blue skies ahead" sentiment.  I love the wave pattern on the paper I chose for the banner-shaped piece. I popped up the red stripes on the lighthouse using foam dimensionals... ju

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #197

My first AHSC of the year - also my first in awhile! :) I had a need for a Get Well card this weekend, so I decided to use this week's sketch for the card. Check out the sketch : And now check out my interpretation of the sketch: I think that the two swirly wreath-like shapes from SU! Swirly scribbles look like a rose - which pairs perfectly with CTMH's Hello Lovely paper pack.  I cut out 1 of each in a patterned paper from Hello Lovely, and then 3 of each in White Daisy cardstock. I wanted my rose to have a layered look, so I used CTMH Liquid Glass randomly between the layers. You can't see the layers well from the angle of the picture, but I thought it came out kinda cool! Supplies : Stamps: SU! Teeny Tiny Wishes Paper: CTMH Hello Lovely, CTMH White Daisy and Sea Glass cardstock, CTMH Sea Glass Glitter paper Dies: SU! Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Embellishments: CTMH Hello Lovely Complements, CTMH Gold Glitter Gems Adhesive: CTMH Liquid Glass Thanks
