One Sheet Wonder - Hello Lovely-style!

I was looking for something to do today since my other half is working and I have to the house to myself (except for the dog, who is very needy and loves his cuddles), so I decided to do my first One Sheet Wonder cards.

I did not realize how many templates for One Sheet Wonders there are - wow! So, if you are interested in OSW, but not the template I used, never fear! Because there are about a million and a half more out there. Google is your friend.

OSW does not mean you don't use other products (at least in my eyes it doesn't) - it just means you use one sheet of patterned paper to make all of your cards. So that being said, I will be using the CTMH Workshop Your Way Hello Lovely kit - so I may use some ribbon and embellishments from that kit. But, I will only be using one piece of the patterned paper.  I will also be using CTMH White Daisy cardstock for my card bases, and probably some CTMH Sea Glass cardstock and glitter paper (as you might have guessed, I haven't yet made my cards. Typing this blog entry as I go along). I'm sure I will be using an assortment of Thin Cuts, embossing folders and stamps, just to make the cards extra pretty! But I will list all of the products I used on each card for easy reference.

I chose to do a template by Stamp with Shallon, who I believe is local to me. She provides the cutting template as well as a short video on her OSW, so I encourage you to go to her blog and check it out! I will probably not follow all of Shallon's card designs exactly - but this is a bonus, because you will have lots of card templates to choose from if you do this yourself.

So, let's get started! Here are all the pieces, and I did follow her cutting guide exactly:

Disclaimer: I like to add layers to my cards. Cardstock layers, embossed layers - I just like the look of layers. So, I added layers to my OSW. I didn't use a full sheet of any colour cardstock. I don't know exactly how much of each colour I used, as I was using up bits of my scraps. I did try to make the patterned paper the centrepiece of each card.

I ended up making 12 cards, but I did have pieces leftover (I was just so exhausted at the end of the day and didn't have it in me to go on haha).  But, I do have some pretty kraft cardstock tags, which would look great with these little leftovers!

So, enjoy the cards! I started this blog entry at 9 am Saturday and am just posting this at 1:30 pm on Sunday. It was a process to make the cards, then take all the pictures and add the descriptions...and then clean up my mess, because I do make quite a mess through my creative process :)

Merry Christmas Slimline

I did another card from this week's  Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge  (sketch #469). This time, I did a Christmas card! I used Gina K's woodgraining technique (you can find a tutorial here ). I also used Distress Frosted Crystal embossing powder; here's a close-up of the effect: For the snowflakes and the sentiment, I cut the shapes out twice and glued them together to make them thicker. Very happy with how this one turned out! :) Supplies : Dies: Merry Christmas sentiment (unbranded), Tim Holtz Sizzix Holiday Greens Mini, Pink & Main Stitched Slimline, SU! Christmas Vibes - in May?

I'm participating in the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop .  My card is does not have a Spring/Summer theme - but it's never too early for Christmas, right? Last year, I started my Christmas cards in January - this year, I waited until yesterday to make my first Christmas card.  I just haven't been feeling the Christmas vibe so far this year. But I am pleased with how this one turned out! Supplies used: Caffeinated Christmas stamp set (sentiment) by Becca Cruger SU! Hang your Stocking (holly leaves) SU! You Did It!

It has been awhile since I participated in the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge , so yesterday I popped on to see what the sketch was this week. I need a graduation card for my niece who is graduating from elementary school this June, so I thought I'd allow this sketch to give me inspiration! This is what I came up with:  I made it in the school colours (red and gray).  This is also (I think) the first time I've ever made a slimline card. I like how it turned out!
