Sunday Card Makin'

Happy Monday to all 3 of you who read my blog!! :) I had to make a sympathy card for a coworker over the weekend, and I thought I'd try a new technique that I've never attempted before: stamping on tissue paper.  There's tons of tutorials on the web, but it's super easy. First, you begin by stamping your image on the tissue paper (crazy, I know!) Make sure you put some scratch paper under the tissue because it will bleed through. Wait for your ink to dry, then crumble the tissue into a ball. Then unball (is that a word??) the stamped image. So you have something like these.... Take a piece of card stock and cover it with glue stick. Make sure every inch of the cardstock is covered!! Then take the tissue paper and stick it on the cardstock. Smooth it out as much as you want. You obviously want the stamped image to be clear, but I think it's interesting for there to be as much texture as possible. I made 2 cards with coloured cardstock on the base for my t

Trick or Treat!

Wowzers! I haven't blogged in awhile. I've had some significant changes in my life over the past few months, so now it's time to get back to what I love. I made some Halloween treat holders, courtesy of the video tutorial over at My Chic 'n Scratch ( here ).  It was great to use my Two Tags die finally! :) The stamps are all Recollections/Michael's. I don't spend a lot of money on Halloween stamps, because I don't make Halloween cards. Actually, this is my first Halloween project. I used my CTMH black ink for most of the stamping. But for the "Spooktacular" stamped image, I used CTMH smokey plum pigment ink, along with clear detail embossing powder ( here ). I love how it turned out. I also used Smokey Plum and White Daisy cardstock. As for the patterned paper, stay tuned. For the life of me, I can't remember the names of the collections. But I will update that information :)   Patterned paper is by: EP The Apothecary Emporium, K&a
