Sunday Card Makin'

Happy Monday to all 3 of you who read my blog!! :)

I had to make a sympathy card for a coworker over the weekend, and I thought I'd try a new technique that I've never attempted before: stamping on tissue paper.  There's tons of tutorials on the web, but it's super easy.

First, you begin by stamping your image on the tissue paper (crazy, I know!) Make sure you put some scratch paper under the tissue because it will bleed through. Wait for your ink to dry, then crumble the tissue into a ball. Then unball (is that a word??) the stamped image. So you have something like these....

Take a piece of card stock and cover it with glue stick. Make sure every inch of the cardstock is covered!! Then take the tissue paper and stick it on the cardstock. Smooth it out as much as you want. You obviously want the stamped image to be clear, but I think it's interesting for there to be as much texture as possible.

I made 2 cards with coloured cardstock on the base for my tissue paper. It gives  it a different look. For the rest, I used Daisy white (#1385) or Colonial white (#1388) cardstock.

So, the finished product looks awesome (just sayin'). I made 6 cards; 2 each of 3 stamped images, all different...

You Did It!

It has been awhile since I participated in the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge , so yesterday I popped on to see what the sketch was this week. I need a graduation card for my niece who is graduating from elementary school this June, so I thought I'd allow this sketch to give me inspiration! This is what I came up with:  I made it in the school colours (red and gray).  This is also (I think) the first time I've ever made a slimline card. I like how it turned out!
