World Card Making Day 2015

Since it is a little rainy outside, I decided to stay inside and hunker down in my craft room and make some cards, in celebration of World Card Making Day.

I'll start with a couple of cards that I made with Twinkle, the October Stamp of the Month from CTMH.  They are both pretty simple.

I random stamped the December 25 stamp, with Pacifica and Glacier ink, and inked the edges with Glacier. I also used Whisper ink to do the stars. I used silver shimmer trim, Glacier and White Daisy cardstock. The sentiment is CTMH Say It All. I also used a Bitty Sparkle on the sentiment.

The second card was made using White Colonial, Cranberry and Olive cardstock. The "Merry Christmas" sentiment was made using the Artiste Cricut cartridge.  I embossed the Olive cardstock using the SU! Lucky Star embossing folder, but you really can't notice it, since there is not much of the cardstock showing. I used a Bitty Sparkle, and CTMH Cranberry, Olive and SU! Chocolate Chip inks. I think I should have stamped some more lightbulbs on this one! Next time...

My next 2 cards are Christmas cards as well (shocker! I love making Christmas cards!).  The first one uses CTMH kraft paper as the base, and CTMH White Pines B&T paper, Olive, Cranberry, and White Colonial cardstock. I embossed the Olive cardstock with my Swiss dots (by Cuttlebug) folder. I also used Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Four to cut out Cranberry and White Colonial cardstock. I used the CTMH Believe in Christmas present stamp (with SU! Chocolate Chip ink), and paper-pieced using the White Pines B&T and Olive cardstock.

And the last one I will share today uses the stamp set from the White Pines cardmaking kit. The wreath was stamped in CTMH Cashmere ink (all of the other colours are the same as above). I really love working with the White Pines B&T because it reflects my favourite Christmas colours - Cranberry and Olive/Fern. This card I really love because of the Fern Thick Twine bow :)

Thanks for looking at my projects and Happy Card Making Day!! :)

Merry Christmas Slimline

I did another card from this week's  Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge  (sketch #469). This time, I did a Christmas card! I used Gina K's woodgraining technique (you can find a tutorial here ). I also used Distress Frosted Crystal embossing powder; here's a close-up of the effect: For the snowflakes and the sentiment, I cut the shapes out twice and glued them together to make them thicker. Christmas Vibes - in May?

I'm participating in the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop .  My card is does not have a Spring/Summer theme - but it's never too early for Christmas, right? Last year, I started my Christmas cards in January - this year, I waited until yesterday to make my first Christmas card.  I just haven't been feeling the Christmas vibe so far this year. You Did It!

It has been awhile since I participated in the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge , so yesterday I popped on to see what the sketch was this week. I need a graduation card for my niece who is graduating from elementary school this June, so I thought I'd allow this sketch to give me inspiration! This is what I came up with:  I made it in the school colours (red and gray).  This is also (I think) the first time I've ever made a slimline card. I like how it turned out!
