AHSC #105

I'm participating in my first sketch challenge over at Atlantic Hearts. Here's the inspiration:


And here's my very simple interpretation:



I used my new Jackson Picture My Life and Paper Packet. I cut the quote out from one of the PML cards and used one of the zip strips on the B&T patterned paper. I used CTMH Barn Red cardstock, embossing about 3/4 of the page with the Provocraft Script embossing folder. The card base is CTMH Glacier cardstock.

I used a sanding block to distress the embossed portion of the cardstock and the CTMH Edge Distresser on the edges of my card.

I usually stamp on my cards, so this was a nice change of pace for me. I love incorporating PML into my projects because it is just super easy! I wasn't sure how I felt about the Jackson collection, but now that I see it in action, I am a fan.

I did another card from this week's  Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge  (sketch #469). This time, I did a Christmas card! I used Gina K's woodgraining technique (you can find a tutorial here ). I also used Distress Frosted Crystal embossing powder; here's a close-up of the effect: For the snowflakes and the sentiment, I cut the shapes out twice and glued them together to make them thicker. You Did It!

It has been awhile since I participated in the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge , so yesterday I popped on to see what the sketch was this week. I need a graduation card for my niece who is graduating from elementary school this June, so I thought I'd allow this sketch to give me inspiration! This is what I came up with:  I made it in the school colours (red and gray).  This is also (I think) the first time I've ever made a slimline card. I like how it turned out! Supplies: Cardstock: Recollections Black and Gold Foil; SU! Real Red, Smokey Slate, and Whisper White; and Gina K Wild Dandelion Stamps: CTMH You Did It, Just a Little Something, and Time to Celebrate Dies: SU! Stitched Circles and unbranded slimline scalloped rectangle

Inspiration from the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge : My Interpretation : Supplies : Stamps: CTMH Finding the Words Ink: SU! Crumb Cake Embossing Folder: SU! Lucky Stars Paper: CTMH Year>>Noted paper pack Etc: Flowers (I have no idea!), Michaels Adhesive Crackle Dots (Island Time) Thanks for looking!! :) ----------------------------------------------------------- Second thoughts (on Wednesday!)... I reworked the card a bit. Added a bigger circle and moved the flower down. I think they both look good. Just playing around with the design a little more.
