It's not too early for Hallowe'en, is it?

I attended an all-day crop on Saturday, so I had to have a fun project to work on. The majority of my cardmaking supplies are currently in storage... so I had to make a quick trip to Michael's to get some of my supplies for this project.

I decided to make Halloween treat cups. Inspired by some Pinterest projects I have seen, this is what I came up with:

I got the coffee cups at Dollarama (package of 10 for $2). I peeled the brown wraps that they came with off (easily), and covered them with my own cardstock/patterned paper. I just traced the outline of the wrap and cut the card stock to fit.

I was very lucky that a fellow CTMH consultants let me borrow their Halloween stamp sets to complete the project: Eek and Shriek (B1429); Halloween Greeting (D1605); Creepy Creatures (C1522); and Frightfully Fun (B1453).

I absolutely LOVE the Frightfully Fun set. The "greetings" are too cute and the images are fantastic for colouring. On page 41 of Annual Inspirations, they use this stamp set (and Trick or Treat Sweets B1460) to make pencil toppers. So many projects, so little time!

Other Supplies:

Patterned paper: Recollections (Halloween paper chain kit)
Baker's twine: Recollections
"Boo!" Ribbon: Michael's
Inks: CTMH Exclusive Inks in Gold Rush and Archival Black (for colouring!)
Markers: Shin Han alcohol markers, assorted

Special little people will get these treat cups on Halloween! I'm going to fill them with some candy and Halloween-themed toys.

Thanks for looking :)

Merry Christmas Slimline

I did another card from this week's  Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge  (sketch #469). This time, I did a Christmas card! I used Gina K's woodgraining technique (you can find a tutorial here ). I also used Distress Frosted Crystal embossing powder; here's a close-up of the effect: For the snowflakes and the sentiment, I cut the shapes out twice and glued them together to make them thicker. Very happy with how this one turned out! :) Supplies : Dies: Merry Christmas sentiment (unbranded), Tim Holtz Sizzix Holiday Greens Mini, Pink & Main Stitched Slimline, SU! Did somebody say 'coffee'?

Happy sunshine-y Thursday everyone! It's a gorgeous day here in NS, and I'd much rather be outside on my deck drinking coffee, than at work, sitting at my desk, drinking coffee. But I digress... This is my entry into the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge  this week. I didn't want to do a traditional floral wreath, as depicted in the sketch, so I thought I'd branch out and try a coffee cup wreath? :) This card is also my entry in the Coffee Lovers Summer Blog Hop ! I discovered this blog hop just a few days ago, and I thought I'd create a coffee-themed card - because I am, in fact, a Coffee Lover! Supplies : SU!
