Happy 2016!

Yikes - I didn't realize it has been so long since I've posted! I meant to post some pictures of my Christmas cards...but obviously that never happened! :)

I thought I'd share a project that I did yesterday using CTMH's My Creations Mini Folio. This was my first mini folio project, despite the fact that I bought them when they first came out (last year?) I'm a bit of a procrastinator.

I used the Sunny Side 6x6 paper pad by Pebbles Inc. I used a variety of embellishments from CTMH and Michaels. Some of the embellishments are oldies, and I threw out the packaging ages ago, so I really don't have any idea who created them!







This was such a quick and easy project. It only took the morning, working at a slow pace. The bases were all cut at 3.75" square, and I used the leftover scraps to add the layers on the pages.

I love the colours of this paper pack. Makes me think of summer and happiness!

Merry Christmas Slimline

I did another card from this week's  Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge  (sketch #469). This time, I did a Christmas card! I used Gina K's woodgraining technique (you can find a tutorial here ). I also used Distress Frosted Crystal embossing powder; here's a close-up of the effect: For the snowflakes and the sentiment, I cut the shapes out twice and glued them together to make them thicker. With Sympathy

My grandmother passed away almost 4 years ago. I was given some things from her house, including a large batch of sympathy cards she received when my Mom passed away in 2008. 47 cards, to be exact. I didn't want to throw them all away, because they still mean a lot to me - they mean that people were thinking about our family through one of our darkest times. But at the same time, these cards, sitting in a Ziploc bag on one of my craft shelves were not doing anything but taking up space. When I saw this week's AHSC sketch, I had an idea...
