Christmas, Christmas, Christmas!

I was about to write "It's that time again - time for Christmas card-making!" but let's be real - I make Christmas cards year round.  I made a shaker card (or 4) yesterday, using the October Stamp of the Month - Yuletide Joy.  I got the sequins on a Sunday morning trip to Michael's (you know, the "i-only-need-new-blades-for-my-paper-trimmer" kind of trip... $40 later...but at least I got the new blades too). Not sure you can tell from the picture, but in addition to the silver, gold and red sequins, there are also holly leaf-shaped sequins. They are super cute...and they were BOGO free.  I heat embossed the bell in silver and coloured the holly berries and leaves with alcohol markers, to add a little bit of colour. I enjoy making shaker cards, so stay tuned - there are probably more coming! :) Complete supply list : CTMH City Sidewalks paper packet (patterned paper) CTMH City Sidewalks coordinating cardstock (Willow was the car...

My First Colour-Me Card!

I needed to make a birthday card for my nephew who loves Paw Patrol. I didn't want to just print off a colour picture and stick it on a card, so  I looked up some colouring pages on Pinterest. I'd seen some colour-me cards on Pinterest before, so I knew that was the direction I was going in. This is what I came up with! It was super quick and easy and I hope he enjoys colouring Marshall! I think this is such a cute idea for kid's birthday cards. I will certainly be making more in the future. Supplies : CTMH Cranberry cardstock (for the 6x6 card base) CTMH Paper Fundamentals Adventure collection (old style) Misc: Gold twine, crayons, hole punch  CTMH Love My Dog stamp set (I decorated the envelope with the paw print, not pictured)

Rainy Weekend = Cards, Cards, Cards!

I watched a Mary Gunn video using the CTMH Happy Times stamp set and water colours and was inspired. I don't have that stamp set yet, so I used some SU! and CTMH stamps as replacements. I'm still not super good with water colours, but I'll continue to work on it! :) This was a super easy card and didn't take very long to do. Supplies : Paper: SU! Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White cs Inks/paints: CTMH Black, SU! Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green, CTMH water colours Stamp sets: SU! Secret Garden (flower), CTMH Sincere Expressions (sentiment), CTMH Springtime Wishes I also did the SU! To You and Yours Shaker Cards project kit, which was gifted to me by a very special fellow card-maker and friend! I only finished the first two so far. Since I don't have the coordinating SU! stamp set, I had to find alternatives for the stamped images. I used the following CTMH stamp sets to finish the cards: Charming Cascades (stars on the Merry and Bright Card), Holl...

AHSC #157

I have decided to almost exclusively make Christmas cards, so I am getting ready to sell a lot of my stamp collection. I'm having a hard time going through my stamps and deciding what to get rid of... because a lot of stamp sets are versatile and they *could* be used for Christmas cards. Anyway, I used the Atlantic Hearts sketch #157 but I didn't get it finished in time to enter it into the challenge, but I thought I'd share it on my blog anyway. So, here it is: Supplies : Stamps: CTMH Perfect Fit - Holidays Paper: SU! Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green Core'dinations and Very Vanilla cs, SU! Festival of Prints patterned paper Ink: SU! Cherry Cobbler Misc: Cherry Cobbler thick baker's twine, CTMH gold Bling Gems, double-sided foam tape

White Pines Inspiration

(I just realized this was not shared in December when I wrote it! It was just saved a draft! Oops!) I was browsing a Facebook group when I saw a Christmas card that I fell in love with. It was awhile ago (like before Christmas 2015), so I have no idea who posted it and I can't find it again :( So if anyone has any idea whose design inspired this card, PLEASE let me know! EDIT: I found the card that was my inspiration! I tried to replicate that card...but with little success.  But I was so in love with the simplicity of the card, that I decided to make my own version. It is one of the ones that didn't sell last year (2015) at Christmas :( I guess my customers didn't like the style as much as I did! Oh well - I can give it away myself :) So, here it is: Supplies : Olive, White Daisy, and Cranberry cardstock (CTMH) Olive, Cranberry and Cashmere ink (CTMH) Gold sequins (CTMH) CTMH Workshops on the Go White Pines Cardmaking Kit set and CTMH Joyful Ga...

AHSC #144

Inspiration : Interpretation: I used CTMH Regatta paper pack, complements, and white and gold ribbon. The sentiment is a zip strip from one of the B&T papers. The upper paper is vellum (though you can't tell from the picture) embossed with the Swiss Dots folder by Cuttlebug. This card came together super quickly, as it does not require any stamping!  Thanks for looking! :)

Happy 2016!

Yikes - I didn't realize it has been so long since I've posted! I meant to post some pictures of my Christmas cards...but obviously that never happened! :) I thought I'd share a project that I did yesterday using CTMH's My Creations Mini Folio. This was my first mini folio project, despite the fact that I bought them when they first came out (last year?) I'm a bit of a procrastinator. I used the Sunny Side 6x6 paper pad by Pebbles Inc. I used a variety of embellishments from CTMH and Michaels. Some of the embellishments are oldies, and I threw out the packaging ages ago, so I really don't have any idea who created them! This was such a quick and easy project. It only took the morning, working at a slow pace. The bases were all cut at 3.75" square, and I used the leftover scraps to add the layers on the pages. I love the colours of this paper pack. Makes me think of summer and happiness! Happy Monday! :)
