Halloween Treat Boxes 2015

Some of you may recall my Halloween treat cups from last year (see them here). I loved making them, giving them out and the reception they got:

I hand a little girl a treat cup. She looks at it, then at me.

"Uhm...I'm not sure my parents will let me drink coffee."

I laughed and said, "That's ok, there are treats inside!"

Now this year, I have to say, I don't *love* my treat boxes as much as I did last year's treat cups. But I do think they are cute.

I did use the same stamp set as last year, CTMH's Frightfully Fun (and I will use it well into the future because I think it's stinking cute!) I also used the same paper from a Recollections Halloween paper chain kit, because I the kit came with so much of it. And it was the exact right size for the bands on the pillow boxes. The pillow boxes were from Dollarama. They came 8 in a package for $1.25! I picked them up over the summer, and good thing too - I haven't seen them since!!

I used SU!'s Cajun Craze and CTMH's Archival Black inks and an assortment of Shin Han markers. I used Recollections baker's twine on some of the treat boxes, and also some silver glitter paper, CTMH White Daisy and Black card stock.  I used the SU! Decorative Label punch to punch out the tags.

I made 32 of these treat boxes. If we get more Trick-or-Treaters than that, they will just get some Cheetos :) We didn't have many more than that last year so I think I'm good to go!

Oh - in case anyone is wondering what is in the treat boxes. It is an assortment of: gummies (eyeballs or cats), bubblegum eyeballs, Halloween-themed notebooks, rings and erasers, plastic spiders, spiders with webs, annnnd fruit-flavoured Tootsie Rolls (except for the vanilla ones. I kept those for myself).

Happy Halloween! :)

Merry Christmas Slimline

I did another card from this week's  Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge  (sketch #469). This time, I did a Christmas card! I used Gina K's woodgraining technique (you can find a tutorial here ). I also used Distress Frosted Crystal embossing powder; here's a close-up of the effect: For the snowflakes and the sentiment, I cut the shapes out twice and glued them together to make them thicker. Very happy with how this one turned out! :) Supplies : Dies: Merry Christmas sentiment (unbranded), Tim Holtz Sizzix Holiday Greens Mini, Pink & Main Stitched Slimline, SU! Did somebody say 'coffee'?

Happy sunshine-y Thursday everyone! It's a gorgeous day here in NS, and I'd much rather be outside on my deck drinking coffee, than at work, sitting at my desk, drinking coffee. But I digress... This is my entry into the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge  this week. I didn't want to do a traditional floral wreath, as depicted in the sketch, so I thought I'd branch out and try a coffee cup wreath? :) This card is also my entry in the Coffee Lovers Summer Blog Hop ! I discovered this blog hop just a few days ago, and I thought I'd create a coffee-themed card - because I am, in fact, a Coffee Lover! Supplies : SU! Coffee Break Suite including: Coffee Cafe stamp set, Coffee Cups dies and Coffee Break DSP and coordinating card stock (Chocolate Chip and Pear Pizzazz) SU! French Foliage stamp set Paper Pumpkin March 2018 "May Good Things Grow" stamp set (for the Happy Birthday) CTMH Gold Pearls Forever in Time natural burlap tape
